Ogham Art – Slainte

65.00

SLAINTE

This is a mixed media piece that brings us back to ancient times with the use of Ogham writing on the stone.  Ogham is the Irish alphabet that was used in Ireland and Britain between the 4th and 7th centuries.  It is written with various strokes and lines carved on the edges of wooded staves or boulders reading from the bottom of the stone to the top.

This piece has used the gaelic word for “Health” which is “Slainte” and written it on a stone using the Ogham alphabet.  It is set on a hand crafted,  wet felted  green background and by using felting techniques incorporates flower embellishments within the picture.  It is finished off with the words “SLAINTE” in gaelic script where possible.

A unique Irish Gift.
